Canby's Can Be Your Next Meal

I dragged myself out of bed this morning, leaving the house without eating breakfast. Once I came to work, my stomach was grumbling. My boss sent me to check out Canby's on Cricket so I decided to grab a bite to eat. My waitress was extremely kind and pointed me to the Canby Canby Shrimp. The description on the menu reads "crispy panko shrimp tossed in Canby's spicy sauce and scallions". It turns out it was even better than it sounds. Before I got my meal, I was given a complimentary salmon and sauce cracker which was superb. The dish itself was crunchy but tender and had the perfect kick. Try it yourself by dropping by Canby's at 11 Cricket and look online at http://canbys.com/.

Cut and Shave Barber Shop

I hear you, I hear you. A barber shop?  How original. But really, Cut and Shave is pretty cool. It's sunken into the corner of Rittenhouse and has a flatscreen T.V and these luxury chairs. It looks vintage and welcomes walk-ins. Check it out at 87 Rittenhouse or call 610-649-9781.

Cool (Literally) Treats At Froyo Lala

The high today in Ardmore was a whopping 96 degrees. There's no better way to cool off than to grab a frozen treat in a new, air conditioned yogurt shop. Cue Froyo Lala. The new froyo shop at 18 W Lancaster has 12 different low/nonfat flavors and countless toppings. I have a sweet tooth and got cake batter frozen yogurt with gummy bears, Oreo crumble, sprinkles and chocolate chips! Don't worry if you like your fruits and veggies; with blueberry, peach, and strawberry froyo along with real fruit in the topping bar, all will be pleased. Also, karaoke is offered every Friday and Saturday from 6-9 pm. Stop by to sing your heart out!

Check out those toppings!                        Cool facade at 18 W Lancaster

Bringing Back Videos at Viva Video

Viva Video is awesome. Affirmation? From a teenager? That alone is enough to make you drop what you're doing and get to 16 W Lancaster ASAP. But there's more. They have thousands of videos, from new releases to those corny movies from the 1980s that my parents adore. Plus, Friday, July 26, they are having a "free evening of partying to some of the best dance number from Bollywood films" in their parking lot. The owner, Miguel, is super chill (that means nice, helpful) and it's worth stopping by the store, even if you  think you'd rather spend hours looking for a movie on Netflix. Like them on Facebook and check out their website http://www.viva-video.com/

Smoothies, Kumpir, Wraps and More at Firinji

"Your Everyday Place" certainly surpasses everyday dining. With a pledge to use fresh ingredients, Firinji has everything from kumpir to wraps to salads. They even have a kids menu. I got an Appomegranate smoothie and was blown off my feet! Add chic decor and indoor and outdoor dining, Firinji at 54 E Lancaster is the go-to restaurant in Ardmore. http://www.firinji.com/

McGreat Food at McShea's

It's about 3:00 pm, and while it may be a little early for a drink (maybe not for all of you), it's the perfect time for me to check out Jack McShea's on 34 E Lancaster. With many beers on tap, an extensive menu, and numerous flat screens there aren't too many eateries that can top McShea's, perfect for a guys night or a family dinner. http://www.mcsheas.com/

A Taste of Greatness at Olive

After looking for a place to live (in the far future, don't worry Mom), I was pretty worn out, and decided to stop by A Taste of Olive. The store offers sampling of hundreds of vinegars and oils from all over the world! I suggest the cinnamon pear balsamic and the Cobrancosca olive oil. It was pretty cool and the people I met were really nice. Check them out at 22 W Lancaster Ave or online at http://www.atasteofolive.com/

Living in Ardmore

In a just a short few years, I will be looking for my own house to buy or rent. That got me thinking about where I wanted to live. I decided to check out Ardmore and the houses/apartments I found just walking around. Looking online, I found out that CNN ranked Ardmore as one of the 100 best places to live in 2011. It turns out Ardmore is a really great place to live!
